Forward Fold

Today's video is another YOGA POSE TUTORIAL and today we're focusing on FORWARD FOLD or UTTANASANA! Uttanasana is a VERY commonly used pose in yoga. This pose presents itself a lot within practices that involve any standing poses. It's even incorporated in Sun Salutations, which is a very important sequence in yoga culture. Today I'm showing you how to get into Forward Fold and also offering some modifications you can use if it's not quite comfortable for your body type. There are many benefits to Forward Fold, such as releasing and stretching the back body, stretching the hamstrings, encouraging circulation, stimulating the organs, and more. I love to do Forward Fold at any time of the day when I need a good stretch. Sometimes in my work, I do a lot of standing so Forward Fold really helps me out. A great way to modify Forward Fold is to use a block, so you will see me demonstrate that in this video. If you don't own a block, you can use a big, thick book and it will have the same kind of effect. I hope you enjoy this video.
